Identify Counterfeit Pops!

Here are some General Tips to avoiding Fake Funko Pops!

  • Make sure the actual pop matches the image on the box.
  • Look at the Font and sizing of the text.
  • Check for either a sticker OR an imprinted manufacturer/product code on the bottom of the box as well as on the foot or head of the actual pop.
  • Look at the color of the box and the paints used to make sure they look right. Many times colors will be off with some being obvious and some being subtle.
  • In general, you should avoid any kind of sale outside the U.S., especially from China. This has become a serious problem recently as fakes have been flooding the market from places like China, Thailand and Vietnam.
  • Do your research! Most of the time if the prices is too good to be true most likely it is. Even if it’s not just do a search of the pop you are trying to purchase and look at plenty to compare.
  • Avoid stock photos and ask for pictures! Asking for all sides will help you when comparing and most sellers will accommodate this request if they haven’t already done so.
